Are these images really free?

  • Yes, they are free as long as you stick to the rules in the Image license Agreement. Also, in some cases, you may need to notify the artists about using the images and sometimes you need to give credit to them. You can see these restrictions under the image previews, right next to the Download button.

Can I use these images for...

  • You can use the images for almost anything. Of course, there are some no-nos and restrictions. Please check the corresponding part of the Image license Agreement or read this more simple explanation.

Can I get permission to use the image?

  • You need to get permission from the artist who uploaded it. Image of Nepal is only hosting the images. 

How can I contact an artist?

  • If you would like to contact one of the artists you can send a message either by clicking on the  "Contact user" button on the top of the artist's profile page.  

I can't find a photo I downloaded or am not allowed to view it again.

  • We have no control over the images of our artists. They come and go. If it's not there anymore, it has probably been deleted from the site. Always make a note of the artist's username when you download a file from our site so that you can contact the person later if there's an emergency.

Why did my images get rejected?

  • Photos are usually rejected due to excessive noise, blur, logos or trademarks, etc. but there are a number of other reasons as well, and there are certain topics we don't like that much. How long does it take to approve my images?

  • This may take a few hours / few days depending on how many images we have in the queue. The administrators checking your images are volunteers who do this in their free time. Thank you very much for your patience.

Can I sell my images for

  • you can't. It's against the site spirit and it's not allowed by the Terms of use. If you'd like to earn money with your images you can Stock photos. They accept photos, illustrations, audio, and footage as well!

What Type of License Am I Receiving?

  • When you download content via, you are granted a free, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable, non-transferable license to use the content subject to the terms and conditions of this license agreement.
  • Only you are licensed to use the content, except that you may allow printers, distributors, or other subcontractors (“Subcontractors”) to use the content in any production or distribution process related to your final end-use. Subcontractors must agree to be bound by the terms of this license agreement and may not use the content for any other purpose.

How Can I Use Licensed Content?

  • You may use the content worldwide, in perpetuity, in any and all media in any way that is not restricted (see “Restricted Uses,” below, as well as any restrictions, notified to you at the time of licensing). This includes the right to copy, display, reproduce, crop, modify, publish or otherwise make use of the content.

  • Unless otherwise stated at the time of download, examples of how you can use the content include (but are not limited to): websites; blog posts; social media; advertisements; flyers; marketing campaigns; corporate presentations; school projects; newspapers; magazines; books; film and television productions; web and mobile applications; product packaging; personal non-commercial use; and, unless otherwise notified, commercial use. Restricted Uses:

  • Falsely represent that you are the original creator of a work that is made up largely of licensed content.

  • Use the content in connection with any goods or services intended for resale or distribution where the primary value lies in the content itself including, without limitation, cards, stationery items, paper products, calendars, apparel items, posters (printed on paper, canvas, or any other media), CDs, DVDs, mobile applications or other items for resale, license or other distribution for profit. This includes “on-demand” products (meaning products in which content is selected by a third party for customization on such product on a made-to-order basis), including, without limitation, postcards, mugs, t-shirts, posters, and other items

Intellectual Property Rights

  • All rights, including copyright and all other intellectual property rights in and to the content, are owned by the content suppliers. All rights not expressly granted to you by this license agreement are reserved by and the content suppliers.


  • The rights granted under this license agreement will immediately and automatically terminate without notice if you fail to comply with any term or condition of this license agreement, in which case you must immediately: cease using the content and delete or destroy any copies.
  • Upon notice or knowledge that any content downloaded via may be subject to a claim of infringement of a third party's right, may require you to immediately, and at your own expense: cease using the content, delete or destroy any copies, and ensure that your Subcontractors do the same.
